• How does Profhilo® work?

  Profhilo® promotes multilevel and dynamic remodeling of the extracellular matrix in terms of elasticity and support, promoting and maintaining viability of fibroblast, keratinocytes and adipocytes.

• On what parts of the body can Profhilo® be used?

  Profhilo® is indicated for contour redefinition and laxity remodeling treatment of the face and body. However, it is particularly indicated for treatment of the malar-zygomatic, sub-malar region.

• What results can I expect with the Profhilo® treatment?

  The face and body will undergo redefinition and laxity remodeling.

• How long does Profhilo® last?

  An initial cycle of two treatment sessions at a 30-day interval is recommended. Results may last for 6-8 months, after which maintenance treatments may be carried out, as required.

• Is the Profhilo® treatment painful?

  Profhilo® is injected with a fine needle and causes minimal discomfort.

• What is the expected downtime after treatment?

  Downtime following treatment is minimal. When injected using the five-point technique (BAP) on each side of the face, each insertion is immediately noticeable. However, the marks start diffusing very quickly and disappear within a day. For further details, please consult your doctor.

• What advice is there for post-treatment care?

  After a Profhilo® treatment, it is recommended to avoid physical strain and sports for 24 hours, and to avoid having further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours. It is also advisable not to have a sauna or steamy bath for the first few days, and to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.

• Are any side effects associated with Profhilo®?

  During the use of Profhilo®, symptoms such as pain, a sensation of heat, reddening or swelling may appear at the injection site. These secondary emergences may be relieved by applying ice to the treated area. They generally disappear in a short period of time. Please notify your doctor of these or any other undesired effects occurring after treatment.

• How long does the Profhilo® procedure take?

  This is a lunch-time procedure, taking around 30 minutes to be completed.

• What are the contraindications for Profhilo®?

  Profhilo® must not be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as laser resurfacing and medium-to-deep skin peeling.

• Who can administer Profhilo®?

  Only a qualified and specifically trained medical practitioner may carry out the intradermal injection of Profhilo®.
