Summary

  

The primary responsibility of the Sales Development Representative is to manage client accounts during the sales cycle including setting the initial appointment, following-up with potential and existing customers, generate and qualify leads, and collaborate with field sales regarding strategy and market penetration. Someone that will see success in this roll is positive, professional, and persistent. They can pivot a “No” into a “Yes” and create an opportunity. This person needs to have the memory of a goldfish, leaving the negative behind. This is a position for someone that finds comfort in a routine and finds excitement in lead hunting and is determined to leave no stone unturned.

Essential Functions

  • Generate and qualify sales opportunities
  • Work closely with the Territory Managers, Area Sales Managers, and Regional Sales Directors to create targeted campaigns targeting both current and potential customers.
  • Heavy volume of daily outbound calls, 80-100 calls/day.
  • Utilize discovery questions and active listening skills to identify potential customers and set qualified appointments for the Outside Sales Team
  • Use effective objection handling techniques to navigate gatekeepers and gain access to decision makers
  • Conduct appointment confirmation calls
  • Research and identify prospective practices, generating and qualifying leads within an assigned territory
  • Create and maintain records of correspondence in Salesforce
  • Develop daily call plan and actively manage your pipeline to achieve quota of dials and meetings set
  • Generate weekly reports summarizing performance to manager and outside sales team
  • Travel to and attend all Sales Conferences that pertain to Inside Sales team
  • Complete assigned projects as given by manager

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred not required
  • B2C sales experience preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 1 year cold calling and/or telephone sales
  • Strong time management/organizational skills
  • Self-Motivated, autonomous, persuasive, goal oriented, organized, and confident
  • Experience with CRM solution set and execute daily tasks/follow-ups in accordance with CRM solution
  • Prefer Salesforce experience but not required
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Emotional Intelligence


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but assists in mentoring peers and other departments as needed.


Travel

This position requires 5% travel as needed.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
